Boston-based associate Geoffrey Fehling was lately sworn in as a member of the City of Wellesley Historic Fee. The Fee was created to protect and shield the city’s tangible proof of the architectural, aesthetic, cultural, financial, political and social historical past. In fulfilling its mission, the Fee:
- educates the neighborhood on the financial, cultural, and aesthetic values of historic preservation, by means of working collaboratively with city boards, homeowners, builders, realtors, and residents, by means of our signature Historic Plaque Program, and thru articles and letters within the native press;
- advocates for native ordinances, bylaws, and public actions that encourage the preservation, restoration, and reuse of historic properties each private and non-private; and
- addresses main growth and progress points, similar to selling good zoning, encouraging renovation and adaptive reuse as options to demolitions of historic properties, and offering technical help and assist to make sure that progress can coincide with the safety of the historic property of the city.
